Oracle Support, keyword ORA:
For session setup the Oracle client connects to the Oracle listener, GatewayPort 1521 or 1526.
The Oracle listener returns information about address and port, where the client should connect (depends on the Oracle implementation).
Example of redirection string sent by the Oracle server: (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=111.3.12.192)(PORT=49917))
Problem: The returned port is a dynamic high port.
Therefore the gateway patches the response string:
address ... IP address of gateway
port ... fixed port 5000 (The Application Gateway listens to this port automatically if the keyword ORA is specified)
This function is available also for forward entries and entries with keyword CONNECT:
In that case in the type field a connect string must be specified (e.g. CONNECT:n.n.n.n:1521) and the remote rule must have type PRX.
Remark: If there are more than one CONNECT keywords in the rule, the rightmost will be modified.
